Allegro 1 (Sonata 11 Op. 2)
This is a movement from Sonata Nr. 11 in A minor for solo instrument and basso continuo by Benedetto Marcello (1686 - 1739) in an arrangement for flute and guitar.
Benedetto belonged to a musical Venetian noble family, one of his brothers was composer, the other religious poet. At the insistence of his father he did not endeavour music alone, he combined music with the profession of jurist. As a composer he is best known for a collection of psalms in part-singing with accompaniment of an instrumental ensemble.
Allegro, that means speeding up and for the guitar that comes to accurate play with the chord transitions. Play the rests clearly and to the point.
