Mas que Doidici

(Antonio Jobim)

A delightful melody by the Brasilian composer/musician Carlos Jobim (1927-1994).

Carlos Jobim was born in 1927 in Rio de Janeiro. He was supposed to become an architect, but he lost his heart to music. Jobim became one of the legendary representatives of the bossa nova movement, although he had a strong liking for jazz as well. That’s why some called him the Brasilian Gershwin. His cooperation with Vinicius de Moraes yielded him fame, but he played and composed also for other ensembles.

Hans Oosterwal made a nice arrangement for two guitars and flute for a Music School recital by my oldest daughter Annelyn when she still played the flute.
