La Galliarde

(Christoph Nichelmann)

La Galliarde is a relatively quick movement from a harpsichord suite by Christoph Nichelmann (1717- 1762) in an arrangement for three guiitars by Andrew Forrest.

Christoph Nichelmann was a composer that worked in between the Baroque and Classical eras. He was a contemporary of Bach and Telemann and achieved a career as second harpsichordist at the court of Frederic the Great of Prussia.

In La Galliarde all players have some work to do, but guitar three has the toughest job, the accompaniment patterns in octaves are tricky.
