The DOS Amigos Homepage Collection
Volume 2: Classical I
In the Classical period - late eighteenth century, beginning nineteenth century - the guitar had a golden age. A relatively small number of guitar composers - with Fernando Sor, Fernando Carulli, Mauro Giuliani, Napoleon Coste en Johann Kaspar Mertz as great examples - produced thousands of works.
According to tradition I started my guitar playing with the small pieces by Carulli and Carcassi. As soon as I learned to read scores quickly, my Classical repertoire extended rapidly. Consequently the DOS Amigos Homepage has two volumes with Classical music.
The collection Classical I contains music by Matteo Carcassi (1792 - 1853), Fernando Carulli (1770 - 1841), Mauro Giuliani (1781 - 1829), Anton Diabelli (1781 - 1858) and Johann Kaspar Mertz (1806 - 1856).
Special themes within this bundle are the works Choix de mes Fleurs Cheriés and Terpsicore du Nord by Giuliani.
On this page you’ll find a sample of the book, a PDF file that contains the covers, the table of contents and a few example pieces. In this way you can get an impression of the content and the appearance of the book.
